2018 GT3 in Voodoo Blue

What a keeper this bad boy is. First I will start with the Voodoo Blue it is very striking in person, on camera doesn’t do it real justice. Something your eye can pick up better really moves you inside. Now in a sea of GT cars all PTS this color still manages to stand out in a very positive way. Now with so many people saying and the numbers don’t lie “get the PDK for lap times”. I could care less about that element, the manual transmission in this GT3 is heavenly! So engaging and pleasant to drive. I think my cheeks are still hurting from smiling while I spent the day with this beautiful machine. I know this is going to sound strange but this GT3 was spec’d with comfort seats. This car isn’t going to see a ton of track use and most of its duty will be spirited road use. I can say the seats were nice and I could see myself road-tripping this to many driving events. The carbon buckets for more than several hours can be harsh on the old back.
The great stuff by the numbers. 9,000 rpm red line, 500hp and 339 lb-ft. Quarter mile times 11.5 secs at 125-mph, a fun fact that is the exact same trap time the 650hp Corvette Z06 Stingray runs. However, the GT3 reaches 160mph faster than the Z06 interesting I thought since the Vette has so much more power and torque. I guess the new balances weigh the Vette down a bit? This GT3 is such a weapon, handles like it is on rails and fast as hell. Oh did I mention the amazing song the engine/exhaust sing is something impossible to describe. If you haven’t had the chance to ever hear one check out our YouTube review of this particular car. We do our best to capture it but, still need to hear it in person. You will get the idea from the video though. This GT3 is a modern classic. The 4.0 Liter engine is such a beast and the car rev’s up so fast. So many good things about this car. The suspension is not harsh even though we rode around in the harshest setting all day I didn’t find it bad at all. My calibration for hard settings isn’t exactly ideal considering my 964 is super harsh and rigid for track settings and doesn’t have all the modern damping this car has. Needless to say, I was very comfortable.
If I could afford one of these I would add it to my collection right now!!! You can’t buy a modern GT3 manual anymore unless you want the GT3 touring. If you want one with a wing, this was the last one so far. With so many that were made in PTS, the next few years will be the time to get one while all the new breeds show up. Because in time this particular model will shoot up in price mark my word. With all the EV things that will be here in the next few years a naturally aspirated 4 liter, manual GT car will be a very rare bird in years to come. So to summarize do everything within your power to grab one and hang on to it. I am not saying don’t drive it, you better drive the hell out of it but you have to get one! Cheers!
