Ever been strapped to an acme rocket before? Yeah me either but, we can imagine what it would be like. I have been a passenger in a jet that was capable of breaking the sound barrier and this is as close as anything has ever come to that on the ground. To be totally transparent I was one of those trolls that said “why would you ever need this?” “who is going to buy these” mainly it was said out of jealously for one because I knew that I would never be able to afford one. Secondly I never thought anyone would ever give me a chance to report on one as well. I mean what are there like all of 3 people out there pay attention to all of our podcasts and videos and articles we make. This was legitimately the most expensive and special car we have driven to date. I am eternally grateful for the opportunity.
By the numbers, this 2019 Porsche GT2 RS with the Weissach Pack has 690hp and 553 lb-ft and weighs in only at 3,241 lbs. INSANE power to weight ratio and you feel every bit of it. Top speed is 211 mph and 0 to 60 times come in at a blistering 2.7 seconds. Healthy price tag at 293k before options but in my opinion worth every penny. It is a twin turbo charged flat six delivering all that power. When you are in the cockpit of this weapon you certainly feel you are in a very special location. The carbon fiber buckets and the endless amounts of carbon fiber inside the cabin is crazy. There is no shortage of knowing you are in GT2 RS weissach pack with all the badges and labels inside. The sounds the car made on startup was warming up a turbine engine, the wurs when the turbos woke up and coming from the titanium exhaust is just heavily. Then you look out the rear window and see that monster wing as you back the car up, wow! Handling as you would imagine is razor sharp. Shifts are smooth as silk and the acceleration is unworldly. This car defies the laws of physics; you would think something this powerful would not be able to put the power to ground. It would just spin and not hook up, not the GT2 RS the voodoo doctors in Germany made sure this delivers every single ounce of power. Handling the road very well even in its most harsh setting.
Final thoughts, this GT2 RS is one for the history books. I spent the first hour trying to figure out how to describe it to the camera as I drove. It was like I was having some out of body experience. It really is that good. It’s so tight, so capable, and so special I really don’t know how Porsche could ever make a 911 that could top this particular car. It gives you a very sense of occasion when you get in the car as it should because it is the most powerful 911 every made. We love it and I know everyone is shocked by that but you have the means I certainly recommend adding one of these to your stable of fun!!
