2020 Porsche Taycan Turbo S

The all-new 2020 Porsche Taycan Turbo S is truly out of this world. The technology in this vehicle is leaps and bounds ahead of any electric technology on the market. Not because of its power levels or its continuous launch capability. More for its ability to operate on a road course, this thing is a true Porsche. What I mean by that in case you don’t know that means is that is elegant, fast, and trackable. Nearly everything in Porsche’s lineup fits those demographics. The New Taycan Turbo S is no exception. This thing is so planted through the corners on track with its suspension stability system and electric modulating motors it really is future stuff at work. If you haven’t seen it in action I would challenge you to go to some source and view a video of it. Top gear recently tested it and on their testing track, it ran the same time as Acura’s new supercar the NSX. Doesn’t seem that impressive? You would be wrong for thinking that. The Taycan weighs 5121 lbs and the NSX weighs 3878 lbs. It nearly a miata’s difference in weight between them. So imagine this for a second, take a Miata and strap it to the roof of the NSX and send it around the track. That’s basically in a nutshell what the Taycan Turbo S is working with. Additionally, it’s a 4 door sedan, so this without a doubt is truly space stuff or witchcraft at work here.
So some statistical data for you number junkies out there. The Taycan Turbo S is rated at 750 hp and 774 lb-ft and real-world battery right around 240 miles of range despite what the EPA says. Trust us we have driven it all of those miles in real-world conditions that’s what you get. It has a 0 to 60 time at 2.6 seconds and runs the quarter-mile at 10.47 sec @ 130.7 mph. That’s right! A 10 Second car that is a sedan. So now you can pay Dom with this 10 Sec car buster if you got money to make it happen. If anyone out there catches that reference I secretly love you. Anyway, it also pulls a 1.02 g lateral acceleration. Those are the stats for all of you that need them.
Finally thoughts, I will be the first to eat crow on this particular electric car. Not on all-electric cars just this one. Since I am a self-proclaimed motorsports Porsche person I love all combustion engine things. However, this Taycan Turbo S has really changed my way of thinking. Porsche has it so right here with this technology. It’s exciting to drive and feels like a sports car. Unlike other electrics on the market the styling and lack of sportscar feels are not there from the other providers. Most of them are one-trick ponies by being able to go fast in a straight line once and then needing a cooldown. Not this animal that Porsche created, dare I say this is as close as you can get to the combustion engine on driving feels. If I were one that was fortunate enough to have a chance to buy one of these and could afford it there is no doubt in my mind you will ever regret the decision to buy. This thing is a space shuttle! CheeRS!
