2015 Porsche 911 Turbo S

So the 2015 Porsche 911 Turbo S, where do I even start with this monster? Ok, let’s start with the paper stats. Car weighs 3,693 lbs, has 560hp, 516lb-ft it is a 3.8 Liter all-wheel drive bully. Granted that weight number sounds heavy for a Porsche but, I will tell you what it is doesn’t feel heavy or slow. This one we drove was bone stock and was still a rocket. Now price back in 2015 was 194k that’s right that much! However the one we test I want to say was like 130ish or little more. Now that is very expensive still don’t get me wrong. 0 to 60 time in this is a neck snapping 2.4 seconds! 2.4 seconds! To put that into perspective for you people since that are just numbers on paper a Bugatti Veyron does 0 to 60 in 2.7 seconds and that is a seven figure car. Now I am not saying this Turbo S is in that class any means, all I am trying to do is give you something to compare it with. Unreal if you ask me, now the price isn’t that bad if you are a performance type person.
One of the more interesting things I think about the Turbo S is that can behave in everyday life. Stop and go traffic doesn’t upset it, it isn’t too loud in appearance or exhaust note from the factory. It blends in, only car people know what it really is. Most people think it’s just another 911. For some people that is a great feature. If you are a look at me person not so much however, if you are one of those people you could always put a crazy wrap on the car and run straight pipes on it. I promise you will be noticed then. From the factory this thing crackles and pops on down shift and it’s amazing. I can’t imagine what a after system would be like to hear. Steering feel is amazing, nice and tight like it should be. Suspension was perfect, performance was perfect, interior was perfect, I couldn’t find a fault with this car. I guess being the halo of the Porsche lineup with it being a Turbo S nothing was left to be desired which I can definitely appreciate.
Final thoughts on this Halo Porsche 911. Outstanding bit of kit. It really is, it blows me away of how many things this Turbo S does well. It was very sexy also, with its Polar Silver paint. I don’t if you are familiar with the color in person but it is silver with a hint of blue hue to it. In my opinion one of the best Porsche colors of all time. It’s subtle but elegant and sexy all at the same time. This one was a truly special experience. I have never been in a Turbo S before let alone driven one. This is the gentlemen’s race car for the street. It comes with air conditioned seats and can run a sub 11 second quarter mile. Unreal!!! You can daily drive this; you can go to fancy places with it if that’s your thing. You can road trip this thing, also no ever really mentions this but they are rather rare. I see far less of these than I do GT cars in our travels but, it is never discussed. Maybe because it doesn’t have a race background? Not sure why but, this thing is 110% the business and I would love to one someday if I ever had the means to do so.
