We get our hands on a 2020 Porsche 911 Carrera S!!!! What a machine first and foremost I am going to squash everyone out their hating on one. Drive it, that’s all I have to say is drive it. It is incredible, I really have no idea how the people at Porsche continue to improve this beautiful piece of machinery.  People say it is too big, it isn’t. It looks larger in picture than in person. Now I will admit I drive an early 911 and this looks like a monster compared to it. However, it really isn’t that bad people. The car is little wider than the last generation but, it is still a 911 to the max. The cabin still feels like 911 even in this modern era which is difficult to imagine. Now, I first saw one in person back in February of this year in yellow and I didn’t care for it. I didn’t get to drive it, it was only on display. I stand by that to this I don’t like this generation in yellow, these don’t look right in my opinion in that color. Almost any other color looks good in this car but that one.

Now, this thing will do 0 to 60 in 3.0 seconds flat and quarter mile time in 11.3. That is bone stock without a tune. You put a tune on this that sub 3 seconds and in the 10’s in the quarter mile. That is blazing fast and it behaves in traffic and in a daily commute. This is a new breed faster, smarter, and more agile than the older brothers. Crazy to say this but other than a couple knit picky items to fault it for like the beetle butt spoiler and some plastics inside there isn’t a whole lot to complain about here. Oh yeah the price the spec we ran as test hit the bank account right around 150k! Yikes that is serious money however this is a serious car. Now, I will admit for 150k I wasn’t over fond of some of the plastic materials inside the cabin area. I feel at that price point I really shouldn’t feel any plastic. That’s me though. It could have been the spec we drove who knows.

Final thoughts, this is highly capable Porsche 911 and it makes all the right noises. After about 4k rpm’s it makes the howl of a GT car induction noise. You know the howl if you been in one. If not check out our GT3’rs video there is plenty of it in there for you get the point. I love that about it I would say that’s one of my favorite parts of it. I also love in stop and go traffic it is so well behaved. I took it out of sport plus for that portion and it performed flawlessly. This an excellent all-rounder it can really do a lot. Track duty, daily duty, dinner duty, and road trip duty. There isn’t a whole lot it can’t handle. They even have a wet mode now. So it handles bad weather like a champ, its entry and exist points are not bad for a sports car either. Would I own one? That’s a tough one that’s a lot of doe just to have the new shinny thing. I know there are a lot of people that are like that and I was like that then yes. I am a get the most for your money kind of guy. Now this was a PDK car the manuals are coming later my opinion may change with that one. I do believe it is a special car. I just don’t have 150k to spend on a car and if I did have a 150k I maybe buying something with a manual gear box. Granted that is on the way but 150k is a lot of money. I want to drive a base one that is coming later also in manual, I have a feeling that’s going to be the sweet spot with these new ones. More to follow!
